escort you though exhibits that re-create the natural landscape so realistically,
you find yourself eye-to-eye with mountain lions, prairie dogs, Gila monsters,
hawks, humming birds and more.
Lunch
Located in a historic Barrio (Neighborhood), we will dine at one of the handful
of Mexican restaurants contributing to Tucson’s reputation as the Mexican
food capital of the world.
Day Two and Three:
Guided Hike into the Cochise Stronghold (Approx. 30 hours 8:00am-2:00pm)
We will travel through communities of southern Arizona where we will come
upon Tombstone, “The town to tough to die.” Here we will spend
a short period of time experiencing the history of “the wild west” that
still lives on. You will then travel to Cochise Stronghold, located in the
Dragoon Mountains. Aptly named, this remote area is famous for the final stronghold
of the great Apache Chief Cochise and his powerful medicine man Geronimo. It
is rumored that Cochise is buried within the spire rock formations of this
rugged area. This is where we will have lunch “on the rocks”; explore
and camp over night. You will be encouraged to camp ‘under the stars.’ Awake

Day Two:
Breakfast for two
Choice of Archeological Trip, Pictographs/Petroglyphs or Birding in Madera
Canyon. We will serve a picnic lunch on these outings. (8:00am to 2:00pm)
Archeological Trip: We will travel to the Casa Grande National Park where
we will explore the ruins of the Native Americans dating back to 300AD. After
a long battle with the desert, the ancient building still commands respect.
Four stories high and 60 feet long, it is the largest structure known to exist
in Hohokam times. Early Spanish explores called it Casa Grande (The Great House)
and to them it was a mystery. It’s walls face the four cardinal points
of the compass. A circular hole in the upper west wall aligns with the setting
sun during the summer solstice. Who were these people, why did they build here,
how did they build this “Great House?” And more importantly, what
became of them?
Pictograhs/Petroglyphs: We will begin our trek at Saguaro National Park West
where we will hike into King’s Canyon. Here we will find ancient drawings
and learn of the culture and history of “the ones from before.”
Birding: We will travel to Madera Canyon for some of the best birding in the
country. Southern Arizona’s canyons are famous for the diversity of bird
species. Following a Pacific flyway, birds from the North and South American
continents stop and stay in this naturally protected canyon for food and water.
Yoga/Meditation Class (2 hours)
Day Three:
Breakfast for two
Guided hike into Ventana Canyon (8:00am to noon)
Walking directly from the resort, we will hike Ventana Canyon. Translated
into English Ventana means window, and justifiably so. The Ventana Canyon hike
will provide an intimate encounter with Bighorn Sheep habitat, streambeds and
much more.
2 Massage Treatments (1 per person)
Dinner in the Ventana Room

National Park. Your guide will share with you a unique look at the

Day Two:
Guided Trail Run (6:00am to 7:30am)
An early morning awakening of the body, mind and spirit. Running
earthen trails, you experience the desert stretching out before
you. The trail narrows and expands, as do your lungs. The path is
quiet; the earth softens each stride as you surge forward. Details
of thought become clearer. Solutions pour forth as you reflect upon
issues before you. Miles are passing by; you persist. You take a
bottomless breath, as the grandeur of nature envelops you. You are
awake, alive.
Nature Breakfast for two
Guided Bike Ride in Reddington Pass (9:00am to 1:00pm)
Hammer the hills, or enjoy a leisurely cruise. The basin and range
topography of the Southwest region offers a wide variety of options
featuring; rides with searing climbs and perilous descents or rides
through gently rolling grasslands. Extreme to sublime…. It
is your choice.

premier spots for its ‘routes’ and scenery. Individuals
with varied abilities will be facilitated.
